"In this economy..."
When somebody starts a sentence with these three words, I can guarantee you they will not be speaking in the positive. For example, "In this economy, I find myself to have a great balance between spending and saving". On the contrary, those words are often followed by excuses. This does not mean that I am excusing the hard times that many people are going through right now. But if you choose believe in a world of lack and hard times well then I can assure you, you will be given many opportunities to prove that to yourself.
Try this on for size: "In this economy, I have prospered and will continue to do so. I am enjoying abundance and sharing my wealth with others"... it works for me.
